We look forward to welcoming you at our next meeting on Sat 6th December
ABOUT US
Somerset Monochrome Group of photographers is open to anyone living or working in the Southwest with an interest in the art and craft of monochrome photography.
The group meetings held Nr Ilminster in Somerset include specialist live lectures featuring regional or national monochrome work not usually available locally. We typically hold meetings six times a year, bi-monthly on a Saturday morning.
OUR NEXT MEETING
Saturday 6th December 2025 - Lucy Saggers from N Yorkshire
Lucy Saggers - Ford of the Sorrel. Over a ten year period Lucy photographed the lives and landscapes of Ampleforth, whose Anglo Saxon name translates as Ford of the Sorrel. This is the village she has called home for the last twenty years and her photographs document ordinary, universal, everyday interwoven lives within the deeply rural, ancient North Yorkshire settlement exploring themes of community and belonging.
“These wonderful photographs are poems and short stories; they are miniatures and epics; they are tiny movements at the edge of the folding map and huge gestures at the vortex of the turning world.'
